RTI Named One of the World’s Most Ethical Companies by Ethisphere for Fourth Consecutive Year

RTI is one of only two honorees in the scientific and technical services category

RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, N.C. — For the fourth year in a row, RTI International, a nonprofit research institute, has been recognized by the Ethisphere Institute, a global leader in defining and advancing the standards of ethical business practices, as one of the World’s Most Ethical Companies. RTI is one of only two honorees in the scientific and technical services category in this year’s edition.

“RTI remains committed to making ethical practices foundational to our mission to improve the human condition,” said E. Wayne Holden, PhD, president and CEO of RTI. “Earning this recognition for the fourth year in a row is a testament to the individual staff members who uphold this commitment on a daily basis.”

Grounded in Ethisphere’s proprietary Ethics Quotient®, the World’s Most Ethical Companies assessment process includes more than 200 questions on culture, environmental and social practices, ethics and compliance activities, governance, diversity and initiatives to support a strong value chain. The process serves as an operating framework to capture and codify the leading practices of organizations across industries and around the globe.

RTI has an extremely visible Ethics and Compliance program, which includes a Code of Ethics and Business Conduct for RTI’s nearly 6,000 employees working in more than 75 countries, a confidential Business Ethics hotline and a web resource on the company’s intranet.

“Our robust Ethics and Compliance program is a point of pride and continues to be closely tied to the mission of the institute,” said Mary Elizabeth Reiss, RTI’s vice president of compliance and ethics. “Earning this recognition from Ethisphere for the fourth consecutive year is a great achievement.”

“Congratulations to everyone at RTI International for earning this recognition,” said Ethisphere’s Chief Executive Officer, Timothy Erblich. “This is a moment to acknowledge the leaders working to advance corporate cultures defined by integrity and affirm those companies contributing to broader societal imperatives and the greater good.”
