| Development of a Water Resources Information System |
RTI designed a meteorological and hydrologic monitoring network as part of the development of a Water Resources Information System (WRIS) for monitoring surface water, groundwater, and water quality for the watersheds draining into Lake Victoria. We also provided guidance on network hardware and data transmission technologies. |
| Nile Basin Decision Support System |
RTI supported the development and deployment of the Nile Basin Decision Support System (NBDSS), a transparent, easy-to use, documented, and scalable information management and decision support system tailored to meet the specific needs of riparian countries and other stakeholders of the Nile Basin. The system provides a common collaborative tool for cooperation among Nile Basin countries. RTI developed tools for hydrometeorological analyses and scenario modeling; model optimization; and Multi-Criteria and Costs-Benefit Analysis (MCA/CBA). We developed training materials and provided on-site training to NBI and national water resources engineers. |
| Water Resources Information System |
The purpose of the Water Resources Information System was to improve water management in the Lake Victoria Basin. RTI designed the meteorological and hydrologic monitoring network as part of the information system and provided guidance regarding network hardware and data transmission technologies. This project facilitated data collection, data processing, and utilization of water resources data in the Lake Victoria Basin. |
