The influence of the molybdenum content of thin amorphous (Gd1?xCox)1?yMoy films was studied. Samples were prepared with an r.f sputtering technique with values of x ranging from 0.66 to 0.97 and y ranging from 0.04 to 0.14. It was found that the concentration of molybdenum influences the saturation magnetization, the g factor and the uniaxial anisotropy field. The anisotropy constant is greatly influenced by molybdenum, especially near the compensation concentration.
