Liang, Y., Raju, R., Le, T., Taylor, C. D., & Howell, A. R. (2009). Cross-metathesis of alpha-methylene-beta-lactams: The first tetrasubstituted alkenes by CM. Tetrahedron Letters, 50(9), 1020-1022. https://doi.org/10.1016/j.tetlet.2008.12.060
alpha-Alkylidene-beta-lactams have been prepared in good to excellent yields by olefin cross-metathesis. Electron-poor alpha-methylene-beta-lactams undergo cross-metathesis more rapidly and efficiently than more electron-rich analogs. Significantly, tetrasubstituted alkenes have for the first time been accessed by CM reactions. (C) 2008 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.
