RTI’s Research Computing Division Appraised at CMMI for Development, Maturity Level 3

A CMMI appraisal signals that an organization has a well-defined quality management system

RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, N.C. — RTI International, a nonprofit research institute, today announced that its Research Computing Division (RCD) has been appraised at level 3 of the CMMI Institute’s Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI)® for development (CMMIDev/3). RCD serves as RTI’s information technology resource, supporting RTI’s many research areas by providing a full range of computing and technology solutions for client projects.

“We are extremely proud to have been appraised at CMMI for development, maturity level 3,” said Karen M. Davis, Vice President of RTI’s Research Computing Division. “This is a reflection on the maturity of our quality management system and our quality commitment to our clients.”

CMMI is a capability improvement framework that provides organizations the essential elements of effective processes that ultimately improve their performance. An appraisal at maturity level 3 indicates that an organization’s processes are well characterized and understood, and are described in standards, procedures, tools and methods. The organization’s set of standard processes, which is the basis for maturity level 3, is established and improved over time.

The CMMI appraisal of RCD was conducted by BG Solutions and Services. To learn more about CMMI maturity and the CMMI Institute, visit: www.cmmiinstitute.com.
