Glossary Term

Longitudinal Study

A longitudinal study follows the same individuals, groups, or communities over an extended period of time. This design allows researchers to observe changes, identify long-term trends, and understand how experiences or interventions influence outcomes across months or years. RTI conducts longitudinal studies to examine topics such as health trajectories, educational progress, economic stability, and behavioral outcomes.
