Burden of disease refers to the total impact of health problems on a population, including illness, disability, and premature death. It often combines multiple measures such as prevalence, mortality, and years of healthy life lost. RTI analyzes burden of disease to help decision makers prioritize interventions and allocate resources where they are most needed.
