Timothy (Tim) Shumaker is a proven leader with more than 14 years of experience focused on delivering results on projects related to private sector-led growth, market systems, workforce development, financial management, and positive youth development. He is skilled at adaptive management and administration of international donor support programs.
Mr. Shumaker currently leads the Feed the Future Hanga Akazi (Create Jobs) activity, a project supporting the growth of Rwanda’s knowledge-based economy by increasing inclusive employment and entrepreneurship opportunities across the food system. Previously, for RTI, he served as Deputy Chief of Party of the USAID-funded Somalia Growth, Enterprise, Employment, and Livelihoods (GEEL) project, where he managed a team of 34 staff in five functional areas and three offices.
Prior to joining RTI in December 2022, he served as Deputy Chief of Party of the Advancing Universal Health Care (AUHC) project in Bangladesh, a project aimed at facilitating a nationwide network of private sector health clinics to inclusively improve access to quality health care. As Director of Program Management at the Kaizen Company, he oversaw more than 15 youth empowerment and employment and organizational development projects.
