Musonda Kaluba focuses on civil society engagement, promoting social accountability, transparency, equity, and effective governance in the provision of water supply and sanitation services. She currently works on the USAID Expanding Water and Sanitation Project, a five-year water, sanitation and hygiene project that works to increase, improve, and sustain the social, political and economic infrastructure for reliable, high-quality WASH services in Zambia.

Ms. Kaluba brings years of experience in policy formulation and implementation through effective planning and management. In previous roles, she worked to adapt principles, theories, and approaches at multiple levels of society and cross sectoral to ensure that projects were able to meet their objectives. Ms. Kaluba has trained more than 350 health personnel in community health related topics (HIV & AIDS; malaria; TB; WASH education; maternal and child health; reproductive health) and provided training and mentorship on topics, including management and leadership, performance assessment, performance management, effective data utilization for planning, and program monitoring and evaluation.

Prior to joining RTI, Ms. Kaluba worked for 10 years in the health sector as a Health Systems Strengthening Specialist with Abt Associates. A core component of this work was performance management across the health service delivery spectrum and the provision of technical support in capacity building to enhance performance in the delivery of quality health services in an equitable manner. She has also worked as a Rural Water Supply and Sanitation Specialist supporting sector reforms; developing WASH education materials and supporting the formation and training of D-WASHE committees in Zambia, through a program supported by UNICEF, GIZ, Ireland Aid and GRZ.
