Mike Mukirane Biregho is a Uganda-based member of the Act to End NTDs | East team, which works to control and eliminate neglected tropical diseases in 13 countries. He has expertise in project management, monitoring, evaluation, accountability and learning for health and gender-based violence prevention and response programs. His professional background includes nearly two decades of experience in health, systems and policy analysis, programming, and resource mobilization in humanitarian and development contexts.
Mr. Mukirane is skilled in the planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of emergency response and development programs. He is a supportive supervisor, known for training and mentoring staff and volunteers in national and international humanitarian response policies and strategies, including sphere standards. He brings technical and operational expertise to proposal development, project design, and program implementation.
Mr. Mukirane joined RTI in October 2019 as a Health Systems Strengthening Advisor, where he has progressed to Senior HSS Advisor. Previously, he was a manager and sexual, reproductive, and maternal health specialist for CARE International’s emergency response program for refugees who came to Uganda from South Sudan. He has also served as a national open health initiative officer specializing in health systems and policy analysis for the East African Community Secretariat, and a branch manager for the Uganda Red Cross Society’s emergency response programming in western Uganda.
