Michael Tewolde Ghebrab is the Chief of Party for the Feed the Future Food Security, Nutrition and Resilience (FSNR) Activity in Liberia. This five-year agricultural program (2023–2028) is helping farming communities produce, sell, and consume more nutritious, high-value crops. He has 15 years of experience as a senior leader, with success in improving project performance, capacity building, multi-disciplinary leadership, and strategy planning and implementation.  

Mr. Ghebrab has managed large, complex programs funded by the U.S. Agency for International Development, the U.S. Department of Agriculture, The Global Fund, UNICEF, and other multilateral donors in Sierra Leone, Southern Sudan, Uganda, and Malawi. His career has centered on agricultural development, food and nutrition security, and resilience, and he has successfully led programs to improve livelihoods for vulnerable households and communities. He applies best practices in monitoring, evaluation, and learning (MEL) to guide MEL tools and system development and cultivate adaptive management of complex programs.

Before joining RTI, Mr. Ghebrab served as Chief of Party on the USAID-funded Njira: Pathways to Sustainable Food Security project, which reached 240,000 beneficiaries, including 94,000 pregnant and lactating mothers. He has also applied his expertise as a Crisis-management Consultant for the Blantyre District Health Office in Malawi, as Senior Guest Lecturer at the Catholic University of Malawi, as Head of Programming for agriculture and food security in Malawi and Uganda, and various positions with Catholic Relief Services, including as Country Director for Sierra Leone.

Mr. Ghebrab is fluent in Amharic, Tigrinya, and English, and conversational in Kiswahili.
