Leanne McCallum Desselle is a Research Analyst & Training and Technical Assistance (TTA) Provider at RTI. Her approach to research and TTA is informed by her experience as a practitioner managing federally funded multi-disciplinary grants serving victims of crime. Her body of work centers on human trafficking, labor exploitation, social services for victims of crime, and multi-disciplinary collaboration.

Currently, she is the Individual TTA Lead for the U.S. Office for Victims of Crime (OVC)-funded Improving Outcomes for Child and Youth Trafficking TTA project, providing TTA to federally funded state-level child trafficking response programs. Leanne is also a TTA provider for OVC Addressing Female Genital Mutilation and Cutting Training and Technical Assistance (AFTTAP) and Bureau of Justice Assistance Innovative Prosecution Solution grantees. She’s a research team member on several projects centered on labor trafficking investigation and prosecution, human trafficking in post-disaster contexts, and high-risk industries for labor exploitation.  

Prior to joining RTI, Leanne was the Project Manager of the Louisiana Child and Youth Trafficking Collaborative project, and the Task Force Coordinator of the Greater New Orleans Human Trafficking Task Force. She has been a featured expert speaker, trainer, and technical assistance consultant for national organizations, including: the International Association of Chiefs of Police, the U.S. Bureau of Justice Assistance, the U.S. Office for Victims of Crime, and the National Human Trafficking Training and Technical Assistance Center.
