Kate Gordon is a health policy analyst with RTI’s Aging, Disability, and LTC CPF department. She currently provides individualized technical assistance, reports, and other resources through federal grants focused on the delivery of dementia-capable and evidence-based practices, including dementia-friendly communities through the National Alzheimer’s and Dementia Resource Center. Ms. Gordon provides consultation to the US federal government, state government agencies, and local social and health services on services for persons with dementia and their caregivers.
She has been a coauthor of numerous dementia-related reports on care needs and supportive approaches in diverse and underserved communities, including serving people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Ms. Gordon has also served as civil society liaison with the Pan American Health Organization, securing the first regional Strategy and Plan of Action on Dementia, assisted in the enactment of 19 state Alzheimer plans and the inclusion of Young-Onset Dementia as part of the Social Security Administration's Compassionate Allowance program. She is fluent in Spanish.
