Janice Kelly-Reid is one of RTI’s senior experts in education surveys. Since 2000, she has been in charge of RTI’s work on the Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System, the federal government’s comprehensive source of institution-level data from more than 7,500 colleges, universities, and technical or vocational schools. Ms. Kelly-Reid manages all aspects of our IPEDS operations, and engages in planning and business development for our portfolio of education surveys.
Ms. Kelly-Reid has been with RTI since 1985, serving in a progression of roles in survey research management. In 1995, she began to focus primarily on studies funded by the National Center for Education Statistics. She has managed data collection activities on several of our major surveys in this area, such as the National Postsecondary Student Aid Study, the Beginning Postsecondary Students Longitudinal Study, and the National Education Longitudinal Study. She has expertise in diverse research designs, target populations, methodologies, and topics, and served for 10 years on our Institutional Review Board.
Before arriving at RTI, Ms. Kelly-Reid was a statistician with the U.S. Department of Agriculture. She is a two-time winner of the RTI President’s Award and a member of the American Association for Institutional Research and the American Association for Public Opinion Research.
