Ingrid Orvedal is a director on the Monitoring, Evaluation, Research, Learning, and Adapting (MERLA) team within RTI International’s International Development Group (IDG). Ms. Orvedal is committed to helping clients identify the information or data they require, how to gather it efficiently, and how to present it in a way that best meets their decision-making needs. As a global learning specialist, Ms. Orvedal has supported numerous international development activities across different sectors and around the globe with monitoring, evaluation, and learning (MEL) systems development and implementation. Her support to projects focuses heavily on the learning and adapting components, such as learning agenda implementation and pause-and-reflect sessions, aligned with key strategic outcomes.

Ms. Orvedal currently works with the USAID/Power Africa East and Central Africa Activity, USAID/Ethiopia Climate Resilient WASH Activity, USAID/RDMA End Wildlife Crime Activity, and USAID/Cambodia Integrated Early Childhood Development Activity. Her contributions span MEL systems design and development support, including refining data collection tools, analysis methods, indicators, and targets. Ms. Orvedal is also the lead for business development on the MERLA team and supports proposal teams across IDG to develop and present compelling MEL approaches.

Ms. Orvedal came to RTI in 2019 from the QED Group, where she was a senior manager in monitoring, evaluation, and learning. She worked with USAID missions and their implementing partners in Egypt, the West Bank & Gaza, Uganda, as well as QED’s staff in those locations.
