Eva Matsiko is an experienced Chief of Party (COP) with more than 20 years of professional experience, including 20 years providing strategic leadership, management, and technical expertise to complex multi-donor, USAID, and DFID-funded democracy and governance programs that have resulted in strengthened Parliamentary, accountability, electoral, and local governance systems in Uganda. From 2020-2021, she served as the COP for the DFID-funded Equity, Governance, Accountability, Participation, and Performance program, and from 2013-2019 was COP for the Uganda Governance, Accountability, Participation, and Performance Program that strengthened governance systems in 40 districts, nurtured and increased civic engagement, and strengthened the accountability loop from the local government to the national level and back. Ms. Matsiko currently serves as a Senior Technical Advisor and Applied Political Economy Analysis Expert in RTI’s Center for Governance where she has provided technical support and political economy analysis for projects in Rwanda, Tanzania, Ethiopia, Liberia, and Uganda
Ms. Matsiko has been an advocate for women’s participation in governance throughout her career, including strengthening women's participation and the security environment in electoral processes, and has held various positions with the Uganda Association of Women Lawyers and as Deputy Program Manager for Partners for Democracy and Governance’s Election Support Programme. Ms. Matsiko is adept at engaging and communicating effectively with a wide range of government of Uganda counterparts and other stakeholders at national and local levels, enabling her to develop and maintain positive relationships and networks with relevant actors. She is fluent in English and Luganda.
