Deborah Herget is a survey director in the Center for Multidisciplinary Studies and Assessment in RTI International’s Education and Workforce Development Division. She has more than 20 years’ experience in school-based survey design and data collection, with particular expertise in the recruitment of states, school districts, and schools for longitudinal and cross-sectional studies.
Ms. Herget leads large-scale studies and multi-mode data collection efforts, such as the Progress in International Reading Literacy Study and the Middle Grades Longitudinal Study of 2017-18. She designs and implements survey data-collection protocols; develops procedural manuals, training programs, and data collection instruments; and recruits, trains, and supervises institutional contactors and field and telephone data collectors.
