Dawid Pieterse has more than 30 years of energy sector experience in Sub Saharan Africa (SSA), including in Uganda, Kenya, Rwanda and Tanzania, with extensive technical expertise in national and subnational distribution sectors.
For 10 years Mr. Pieterse provided long-term sustainable capacity building to utilities in Uganda (UMEME) and Nigeria (EKEDC in Lagos), supporting their unbundling and successful privatization. Prior to that, he worked for 20 years in the utility and power generation sector in South Africa and recently established and ran the Swedish Energy for Africa program in multiple markets in SSA, including Angola, South Africa, Botswana, Mozambique, Nigeria, Kenya, Uganda and Rwanda.
Mr. Pieterse is responsible for the overall administration and management of the East Africa Energy Program (EAEP) Task Order, ensuring that the program fully achieves its expected results on time, on scope, and within budget. He will provide technical leadership and supervision of project staff, subcontractors and consultants and will function as the primary project point of contact for the Task Order Contract Officer and Task Order Contract Officer Representatives, empowered to make all decisions relevant to the implementation and execution of EAEP activities on behalf of RTI.
