Cheikh Beye is a senior education expert with 28 years of professional experience in the Senegalese education system. He currently serves as Senior Education Advisor in charge of coordinating government to government (G2G) and Senegal Bilingual Education Integrated Framework (MOHEBS) activities of the USAID-funded Renforcement de la Lecture Initiale pour Tous (RELIT) program.

Previously, Mr. Beye was a district head inspector in Saint-Louis (2012–2015) and an office agent at the Ministry of Education. He also served as Head of the Quality Division of Elementary Education and as a Coordinator in the Directorate of Elementary Education Department.

As part of his responsibilities within the Ministry of Education, he worked on the development of the harmonized bilingual model (MOHEBS), the establishment of a remediation system for students with difficulties in reading and mathematics, and monitored the implementation of the elementary program at the decentralized level. 

In 2022, Mr. Beye was awarded the Order of Merit by the Ministry of Education (L’Ordre du Mérite), a Senegale award for distinguished civil service. He has participated in conferences, seminars, symposiums, training, and meetings on education in several countries, including Benin, Zambia, Burkina-Faso, Japan, and the United States. He speaks French, English, and Wolof, and has beginner’s knowledge of Spanish.
