Catherine Nyambala has over 24 years of experience working at engineering companies; 13 of which she has spent in the energy sector. She is currently serving as the East Africa/Kenya Technical Lead for the USAID-funded Power Africa Empowering East and Central Africa (EECA) project, which is helping countries develop their ​​renewable energy sources and scale on- and off-grid energy solutions to fuel inclusive, low-carbon economic growth.

Prior to this role, Ms. Nyambala was the Business Process Improvement and Innovation Manager at the Kenya Electricity Generating PLC (KenGen). At KenGen, she led improvement and loss reduction initiatives across Geothermal, Hydro, Wind and Thermal Technologies. She also influenced the adoption of e-mobility and the roll out of battery energy storage. Before her work in the energy sector, Ms. Nyambala was in the telecommunications sector; she is passionate about sustainability and efficiency in utilities.
