Brent Rowe is the founding director of Lab 58, RTI’s corporate innovation lab, which is exploring emerging and disruptive technologies—such as AI/ML, blockchain, and immersive technologies (e.g., VR, AR, MR)—with the goals of developing new RTI products and services and improving the quality and efficiency of our existing research and implementation work. Mr. Rowe leads a team with expertise in innovation management, product design, and business and partnership development, as well as specific technology expertise in areas of focus.
Prior to running Lab 58, Mr. Rowe was a senior economist at RTI, focusing on evaluating innovative technologies and developing economic impact models, often to support R&D early in the process to help refine the focus. He led research for government agencies, foundations, and commercial clients looking at issues surrounding the adoption of new technologies in a wide variety of industries—including cyber security, semiconductors, biotechnology, information technology, and nuclear energy. Mr. Rowe has presented his work at numerous conferences and has published articles in a variety of journals, as well as co-authoring a book entitled Cyber Security: Economic Strategies and Public Policy Alternative.
