Benjamin Lord, PE, is a member of our applied water systems research team. He specializes in developing and implementing hydrologic models for environmental decision-making in domestic and international settings. His work helps clients and policy-makers account for the potential effects of climate change and sea-level rise, and contributes to our understanding of the inherent tradeoffs of the food-energy-water nexus.
Mr. Lord recently developed a case study for USAID on past and future water availability in Mindanao, an island in the Philippines. He also provides hydrology expertise to the Louisiana Freshwater Assessment, partnering with the Nature Conservancy to apply RTI’s WaterFALL decision-support tool across watersheds in Louisiana and Mississippi. For the Inter-America Development Bank, Mr. Lord is developing models that will help Latin American countries adapt to climate change.
Mr. Lord joined RTI in 2015. He is a professional engineer registered in North Carolina and a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers, American Water Resources Association, and North Carolina American Water Works Association.
