Barbara Greenwood is an education specialist with more than 20 years of professional experience managing and developing programs, with a focus on community based non-formal and formal education and institutional and organizational capacity building in Eastern Europe, Central Asia, Southeast Asia, and Africa.
Ms. Greenwood currently serves as Chief of Party for MERIT: The Malawi Early Grade Reading Improvement Activity, which is supporting improved reading outcomes for Malawian students in grades 1-4. She is responsible for overseeing all aspects of project implementation, technical quality assurance, external representation, and monitoring and evaluation.
With strong leadership credentials, Ms. Greenwood is experienced at building capacity in multiple areas of educational programming at the primary levels, including teacher training, resource and curriculum development, and community engagement reform. She has worked in Azerbaijan, the Kyrgyz Republic, Tajikistan, Kosovo, Burma/Myanmar, Cambodia, Ethiopia, and Sierra Leone.
