Allison Redden works with schools and districts to support strategic planning and implementation with RTI’s Center for Education Services. She uses her extensive background in education policy in tandem with practical insights gained from classroom teaching experience to advise education leaders as they create strategic plans, align district policy to state policy, and redesign local education initiatives. As a champion for educational equity, Ms. Redden has built a strong reputation in the education community as a leader who is able to bring both evidence-based and empathy-informed insights to her work and regularly contributes to EducationNC.
Ms. Redden currently supports several Regional Education Laboratory (REL) Southeast coaching projects, specifically with New Hanover County Schools, Granville County Public Schools, and Johnston County Public Schools. She develops communication strategy around policy and implementation and works with districts on competency-based education, social-emotional learning, project-based learning, and change management.
Prior to joining RTI, Ms. Redden worked as an education program specialist for the North Carolina State Board of Education. During her time with the Board, she was the lead author of a revised statewide strategic plan that was unanimously approved in August 2019. Ms. Redden started her career as an elementary and middle school teacher in North Carolina’s public schools and is a passionate advocate for public education.
