We also provide education and training solutions for forensic scientists and law enforcement officials around the world, and we provide technical assistance—including tools for measuring and improving literacy and numeracy—to strengthen education systems in developing countries.

An important part of our work in education is the integration of gender-based research. To broaden and strengthen our education policy and program evaluations, we draw on the varied expertise and resources found in the RTI Global Gender Center.


One-third of college STEM majors switch fields by graduation

About a quarter of high-performing students who began pursuing a bachelor’s degree, declared a science, technology, engineering, or math major during their enrollment between 2003 and 2009, but nearly a third of these students had left STEM fields by spring 2009, according to a study by RTI International.
