Dr. Chelsea S. Smith is an education consultant in RTI’s Center for Education Services. Her work focuses on coordinating professional learning for school districts and conducting comprehensive needs assessments through data collection and school principal coaching.

Dr. Smith is the lead consultant on an Innovative Partnership Grant, where she helps school principals and their leadership teams develop strategies to improve student outcomes, plan and develop professional learning opportunities, and coordinate the activities of the team assigned to support each school. She is also the lead consultant on Rethink Education, a project designed to prioritize economically disadvantaged communities and others while recovering from the COVID-19 pandemic. As part of this work, Dr. Smith provides schools and districts leadership and educational coaching, family and community engagement, and blended learning support.

Dr. Smith has a post-master’s certification in school administration from the Piedmont Triad Leadership Academy at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. She also has North Carolina Professional Licenses for School Administrator: Superintendent, School Administrator: Principal, and Elementary Education (K-6).
