RTI Press Research Report

Student employment during the transition to college in the United States

Bozick, R. (February 2008).

Students who work while in high school were more likely to enroll in college and continue working while in school than their nonworking peers, according to RTI researchers. The analysis of almost 12,000 high school seniors suggests that students who were able to maintain a moderate balance of the roles of student and worker during high school had the smoothest transition into higher education.
