Dr. Tebeje Nigussie Kibru has worked with RTI on USAID-funded agricultural projects since 2021 and has over 18 years of experience engaging and communicating with a wide range of market actors in Ethiopia and Uganda as a senior manager and agricultural and food systems expert. He possesses critical knowledge in agribusiness, private sector development, and fostering relationships between producers, financial institutions, and stakeholders within the Government of Ethiopia. In addition, he is experienced in new business and proposal development for donor-funded projects.

Dr. Kibru is currently the Deputy Chief of Party for the Feed the Future Ethiopia Transforming Agriculture Activity, overseeing all technical and managerial deliverables. He previously served as the Food Environment Manager on this project. Prior to joining RTI, Dr. Kibru held several senior leadership positions including as Livestock Value Chain Advisor for various projects, including the USAID Agricultural Growth Program Livestock Market Development Project, the USAID Uganda Growth, Health, and Governance (GHG) Project, and the Feed the Future Ethiopia Value Chain Activity. Under these programs, he managed a wide range of multi-disciplinary teams and ensured successful execution of project deliverables.

Dr. Kibru is a member of the Ethiopian Veterinary Association and the Ethiopian Society of Animal Production (ESAP). He is a native speaker of Amharic and fluent in English.
