Lorena Reyes is an international education expert focused on public policy, educational materials development, and violence prevention. She serves as a Senior Education Advisor under the USAID-funded Progresa con Educación project in Honduras, implemented by RTI. She has worked in the national education system of Honduras, in the education division of the Inter-American Development Bank, and as a senior advisor for education and development under USAID’s Asegurando la Educación project.

Ms. Reyes has contributed to various national public policies in Honduras, including a law against school bullying, a strategy for violence prevention and school safety, a program for digital education transformation, and has participated in community networks and thematic roundtables for violence prevention in Honduran educational centers.

In addition to her work in Honduras, Ms. Reyes has participated in Central American regional dialogues on educational policies, in the Mesoamerican Education Initiative, and in the High-level Group on Safety in the Northern Triangle and Mexico.

Ms. Reyes is fluent in Spanish and has intermediate English proficiency.
