Chris Simmons named new leader of RTI Health Solutions

RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, N.C. — RTI Health Solutions, a business unit of nonprofit research institute RTI International, has named Chris Simmons as its new leader and senior vice president. Simmons will lead the organization’s strategic direction, operational leadership and day-to-day oversight.

“Chris has an ambitious vision for growth, and I’m confident he will effectively lead and truly inspire Health Solutions staff,” said RTI President and CEO Tim J. Gabel. “Under Chris’s leadership, and with the support of both the Health Solutions team and all RTI, Health Solutions is positioned for greater success and enhanced impact.”

Simmons joined RTI in 2003 as a finance executive for Health Solutions. He holds a master's degree in clinical research management from Wake Forest University, where he concentrated on the unique design, analysis, data management, quality, ethical, and regulatory aspects of clinical and real-world studies. In addition, Simmons is a CPA with more than 30 years of experience in financial and operational positions, with particular focus on early-stage, rapidly growing technology and biotech businesses.

“I’m honored and excited to serve as senior vice president of RTI Health Solutions," said Simmons. "Our organization is built on a strong foundation, and I believe the Health Solutions team is poised to increase our role in helping our clients make safe and effective medical interventions available to patients worldwide. I have tremendous confidence in this organization. It continues to be healthy and vibrant, even during periods of change. We will succeed the same way we always have — by working together in a collaborative, supportive way and always with a fine eye for quality in all we do.”
