Catherine Fort

Director, Asia Programs

Catherine Fort is a Senior Director with more than 30 years of experience designing, managing, and evaluating integrated public health programs in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs). Since arriving at RTI in 2002, she has been focused on helping LMICs improve their health systems to provide higher-quality and more accessible health services to their vulnerable populations. Serving as the Deputy Director for the International Development Group’s (IDG’s) Global Health Division (GHD), Ms. Fort provides management and technical oversight of USAID-supported health systems strengthening projects in Asia, Africa, and Latin America, and supports GHD-level strategic planning, budgeting, and financial management. Also skilled in proposal management and business development, she has helped RTI grow its health portfolio with USAID to more than $100 million in annual revenue.

She also works closely with her colleagues in education, democracy and governance, and economic growth to bring state-of-the-art, cross-sectorial approaches and best practices to improve public health service delivery. Ms. Fort has provided oversight to a number of USAID-supported health projects, including three integrated (MCH/FP/nutrition) service delivery systems designed to strengthen programs in Philippines and Nepal; two health governance and decentralized service delivery programs as a partner to Jhpiego (Indonesia) and IntraHealth (Rwanda); and the Strategic Alliances for Social Investment Project, which covered three countries in Central America (Guatemala, Nicaragua, and El Salvador).
