Drug Discovery and Development

Leading with science to propel drug discovery and pursue development

Innovation remains a key component of drug discovery and development. Threading science throughout the process can lead to greater data quality, compliance with safety and privacy standards, and alleviate uncertainty from continuing changes in regulations—ultimately saving time, building efficiency, and bringing safer, more advanced products to market.

Our team leverages core expertise in:

  • Assay development, high-throughput screening (HTS), hit-to-lead medicinal chemistry, molecular design, in vitro ADME, and in vivo pharmacokinetics (PK) to expedite the drug discovery process;
  • Applying integrated drug development capabilities in drug metabolism and pharmacokinetics, toxicology, bioanalysis, and analytical and formulation development to support development of drug candidates from hit identification to lead optimization and proof of principle;
  • Conducting medicinal chemistry–driven lead optimization campaigns to convert low potency/efficacy compounds with liabilities into preclinical candidates that can enter IND-enabling studies;
  • Natural products discovery and hit generation using in-house focused libraries;
  • And computational chemistry and bioinformatics support.

With a half-century of experience in the discovery and development of drug candidates, we serve as a trusted partner and advisor to pharmaceutical companies and public sector agencies in bringing new medicines to market and ensuring the safety and efficacy of those already in the marketplace.

Anchoring Research

Researchers in our Discovery Sciences laboratories are developing and testing treatments for diseases like cancer, mental health conditions, and substance abuse addiction. We also study the effects of the environment on human health, particularly in high risk communities.
