Abstract
Objectives: To evaluate whether Smart Choices, a computer-based family planning counseling aid designed for use in family planning clinics, resulted in more patient-centered counseling, enhanced patient knowledge, method initiation and satisfaction, and choice of more effective methods. Smart Choices includes a questionnaire about contraceptive use and risk factors and an interactive birth control guide. Providers receive an easy-to-read summary of questionnaire answers before seeing patients.
