Abstract

Pennsylvania high school CTE graduates with high scores on technical skill assessments are more likely to enroll in postsecondary education within a few years of graduation than peers with lower scores. For the National Research Center for Career and Technical Education, MPR researchers examined data on more than 20,000 CTE graduates in Pennsylvania from 2004 to 2006 to explore the association between student performance on technical skill assessments and their in-school experiences and post-high-school employment outcomes and postsecondary enrollment
