Abstract

Provides practical strategies that can be used to address challenges that social workers and other service providers face when working with individuals with dementia who live alone, including identifying individuals with dementia who live alone, building trust, supporting safety and autonomy, involving family and friends, coordinating paid providers and formal support services, and assisting with transitions to a new setting.
