Abstract

In 2010, the Division of Academic and Technical Education at the Office of Vocational and Adult Education (OVAE) launched the Promoting Rigorous Career and Technical Education Programs of Study project to promote the development of rigorous programs of study (RPOS) in six states. This four-year research project supports states in strengthening the quality of their CTE programs and improving state capacity to report valid and reliable data. This report analyzes state performance data for the baseline year of the study, comparing the educational achievement and post-program outcomes of RPOS students in three participating sites with those of other CTE concentrators and all other students
