Mathematical-modeling of liquid-junction photovoltaic cells: II. Effect of system parameters on current-potential curves
The one-dimensional mathematical model presented in a previous paper was used to calculate the effect of systemvariables on the performance of an n-type GaAs semiconducting anode in contact with an 0.8M K2Se, 0.1M K2Se2, 1.0M KOH electrolytic solution. The performance of the semiconductor electrode is influenced by kinetic limitations to interfacialreactions, dopant concentration, semiconductor thickness, the direction of illumination, and the amount of lightabsorbed in the semiconductor. An optimal dopant concentration and semiconductor thickness can be calculated for agiven system.
