Abstract

To support states in improving the quality of their Perkins accountability data,the Office of Vocational and Adult Education (OVAE), US Department of Education, invited State Directors of Career-Technical Education to submit requests for individualized technical assistance. In response to a request by the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE), MPR researchers provided targeted technical assistance to help the state improve the collection and interpretation of its secondary high school completion data collected for Perkins accountability purposes. This report summarizes project findings and provides recommendations to improve the validity and reliability of state data
