Data on correctional education in the United States are difficult to compare across states because of differences in definitions, data collection strategies, and other issues. This article describes the development of the Correctional Education Data Network (www.cedatanetwork.org), an effort to expand and improve the gathering and sharing of data on correctional education across the country.
