As the first line of defense, policing is vital to ensure the safety and well-being of people and their communities. Law enforcement officers confront some of the most heightened and difficult challenges and, during these moments of duress must be vigilant, equitable, and fair. At the same time, many policy agencies are under-staffed, under-resourced, and as the first responders to a wide array of events, sometimes under-trained.
RTI supports these agencies and fills the gaps in their forces. Our team includes criminologists, data scientists, behavioral health specialists, statisticians, and analysts with direct law enforcement experiences who provide data analysis, training and technical assistance to law enforcement agencies across the US. Because our staff has experience both in agencies and within research settings, we offer a unique blend of skills and experiences dedicated toward understanding, outlining, and solving 21st century policing challenges.
Providing research, evaluation and technical assistance and developing custom analytics tools, the RTI Center for Policing Research and Investigative Science partners with federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies and other stakeholders.
