RTI International’s Amy Sink Davies Named Vice President, Food Security and Agriculture
WASHINGTON, D.C. — Amy Sink Davies, a senior director at RTI International, has been promoted to vice president for Food Security and Agriculture for the International Development Group at RTI International.
In this role, Davies leads a team working to leverage RTI’s technical excellence to improve food security, nutrition and resilience around the globe. Her responsibilities include: spearheading an RTI-wide strategic initiative in food security and agriculture; developing technical approaches, strategies and tools for food security and agriculture; and overseeing business development and proposal efforts.
“Since joining RTI in 2015, Amy has demonstrated excellent leadership and technical skills and contributed to the exponential growth of our global food security, agriculture and nutrition practice,” said Paul Weisenfeld, executive vice president of the International Development Group at RTI. “We look forward to her continued direction on key initiatives as we partner to decrease global hunger, poverty and undernutrition around the world.”
Davies joined RTI in 2015 and most recently served as senior director for Food Security and Agriculture for the International Development Group. She is an expert in international development and humanitarian assistance and spent 16 years working for the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) in Washington, D.C. and abroad.
During her education and throughout her career in USAID’s Bureaus for Food Security and Democracy, Conflict, and Humanitarian Assistance, Davies has worked throughout Sub-Saharan Africa and other developing countries, with long-term assignments in Togo, Ethiopia, Eritrea, Uganda, Sudan, Malawi and South Africa. She is fluent in French and received various Meritorious and Superior Group Awards while at USAID.
Davies holds a master’s degree in international affairs from the University of Kentucky and a bachelor’s degree in French from Lenoir-Rhyne University.
