RTI International’s Ashley Amaya named editor of Survey Practice

RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, NC— Ashley Amaya, Ph.D., a survey research expert at RTI International, has been named editor of Survey Practice, an e-journal published by the American Association for Public Opinion Research (AAPOR).

Survey Practice provides the latest information on issues relating to survey research and public opinion for survey and public opinion practitioners, new survey researchers, and those interested in survey and polling methods. The e-journal highlights useful information involving public opinion and survey research help advance survey quality.

As the editor of Survey Practice, Amaya will lead the e-journal’s growth and development to reach a wider audience and scope of topics.

Amaya is a survey research methodologist with more than 15 years of experience in survey research. Her research studies techniques to further advance the use of address-based sampling and multimode designs with a focus on nonresponse bias. Her experience also includes leading various public health and substance abuse-related surveys.

Amaya holds a doctorate degree in survey methodology from the University of Maryland, and a master’s degree in survey methodology and bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of Michigan.
