Tim Martin, PhD, designs, implements, and applies models and decision support services for land and water resource planning and management in a range of roles and functions, including technical expert, principal investigator, program advisor, and project evaluator. He works as technical specialist and advisor to a range of organizations, including international development partners, national agencies, communities, local NGOs and academia.
Dr. Martin has worked in major river basins of the world including the Colorado, Platte, Nile, Tigris/Euphrates, Brahmaputra, Ganges, Syr Darya, Indus, and Limpopo. Among the applications he’s pursued are irrigation demand and water allocation, consumptive use analyses, river basin studies and trans-boundary water issues, river morphology and sedimentation, floodplain morphology, and flood forecasting. His experience in technology transfer and capacity development have been key to the success of each of his international development projects.
