Robert Zerbonia

Robert A. Zerbonia has more than 40 years of experience in the environmental field, managing both domestic and international projects. He has a strong technical background in air pollution control program development, regulatory options analysis, regulatory development, and control technology performance evaluation and cost estimation. He also serves as the general manager of RTI’s Abu Dhabi and Qatar offices.

Zerbonia is currently managing a multiyear project to assist Abu Dhabi Emirate in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to provide technical and management support for environmental protection programs. This support involves industrial and development project permitting and inspection; policy and regulatory development; and environmental monitoring within the Environment Agency–Abu Dhabi (EAD).

Previously, he supervised a group of engineers and scientists for RTI’s Environment, Health, and Safety Division, focusing on EPA programs aimed at controlling pollutant emissions from industrial process and waste management operations. In more than 20 years of support to EPA’s Office of Air Quality Planning and Standards, Zerbonia has focused on regulatory development, policy guidance, implementation, training, and compliance for the air program. He is also a member of the Air and Waste Management Association as well as the Alpha Chi Sigma (Chemical) professional fraternity.
