Robert Ssengonzi, PhD, is a seasoned health professional with more than 20 years of experience in research, program management, technical assistance, and leadership of complex HIV programs and interventions. He has expertise in training, mentorship, coaching, research, M&E, and the use of both quantitative and qualitative techniques in data analysis. He has extensive international and field experience in Africa and Asia, leading large project teams and working with senior host government representatives and international donors and agencies such as USAID, CDC, PEPFAR, UNICEF, and WHO. He also led more than 10 scientific studies and authored several seminal pieces on behavioral transmission patterns of HIV/AIDS, estimation of orphans and vulnerable children in Africa, and malaria prevention. Dr. Ssengonzi also has a strong track record in business development as a proposal writer, proposal leader, and supervisor of business development teams. He is a prolific speaker and writer who speaks several African languages fluently and is conversational in French.
