Patience Ujay Suah has worked in the education sector in Liberia for over 25 years. She currently serves as Senior Reading Director with the Read Liberia Activity, a five-year program funded by the U.S. Agency for International Development. In this role, she is responsible for supervising the technical implementation of Early Grade Reading activities, teacher training, and coaching, and providing technical support and guidance to the Read Liberia program and Ministry of Education staff in targeted counties.
Previously, Ms. Suah served as Program Specialist and Assistant Team Leader on the USAID Liberia Teacher Training Program (LTTP). She played a critical role in instructional design, field implementation, and early grade reading teaching evaluation across Liberia.
During the LTTP implementation, she supervised the training of teachers and coaches/mentors. She supported school administrations, the Ministry of Education, and local administration counterparts in adapting and aligning instructional instruments to strengthen national reading competencies and interventions.
