Matthew St. John is senior manager for Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning in our International Development Group’s Governance and Economic Development (GED) Division. In this role, he oversees GED’s monitoring and evaluation (M&E), learning, and adaptive management activities that spans a global portfolio of projects across Latin America, Africa and Asia.
Mr. St. John has extensive experience overseeing M&E, disseminating results, and incorporating lessons learned for improved project impact and sustainability, even in complex environments. He also leads an applied research initiative to develop innovations in adaptive management. Mr. St. John's efforts have led to significant improvements in public sector service delivery and project implementation.
Mr. St. John has managed projects throughout Latin America and the Caribbean, as well as in East Africa and East Asia. Mr. St. John is fluent in Spanish and English and is honing his French, Creole, Portuguese, and Guarani skills.
