Kaleen Healey brings substantial experience conducting methodologically rigorous, actionable research and translating complex research designs into usable information for policymakers and practitioners in K-12 education. Her work ranges from studies of policy implementation to longitudinal analyses of educational attainment.
As a senior researcher at the University of Chicago Consortium on School Research, Dr. Healey led the development of district-wide and school-level data reports on the educational attainment of Chicago Public Schools students and published resources to guide districts in the creation and implementation of a college readiness indicator system. She has planned and facilitated professional development to support school leaders’ use of data in school improvement planning and progress monitoring.
Methodologically, Dr. Healey’s work spans quantitative and qualitative research methods and includes a broad set of analytic tools. Her research interests include the use of data for school improvement, educational attainment, and teacher effectiveness.
