Erin Dunlop Velez, a director of education research at RTI, has a strong background in quantitative analysis, with a particular focus on postsecondary education. For our clients, Dr. Velez has provided analysis and content expertise across many different projects and content areas for both federal and non-profit clients.  She has been the analytical lead on several Baccalaureate and Beyond studies for the U.S. Department of Education (B&B:16/17, B&B:08/18, and B&B:16/20) and has authored more than 15 publications for the U.S. Department of Education. Dr. Velez has also lead data analysis projects for numerous non-profit clients, including Pew Charitable Trusts, the Gates Foundation, the American Council on Education, and the Sloan Foundation. Dr. Velez’s research is often centered on barriers to attainment of postsecondary credentials, financial aid policy, community college students, and the labor market returns for postsecondary credentials. She is also certified as a What Works Clearinghouse Group Design Standards Certified Reviewer by the Institute of Education Sciences.
