Bridget Kelly, program manager for RTI’s Science in the Public Sphere program, studies topics in public health and health communication using qualitative and quantitative research methods. She has conducted research for clients including the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and the National Cancer Institute.

Several of Dr. Kelly’s current projects focus on direct-to-consumer prescription drug advertising, and effects on perceptions of prescription drug risks and benefits. Dr. Kelly also studies communication during infectious disease outbreaks and has worked on projects involving H1N1 influenza information; Ebola perceptions; and pandemic flu preparedness. Before joining RTI in 2007, Dr. Kelly worked in the Center for Excellence in Cancer Communication Research at the University of Pennsylvania. She serves as a reviewer for a variety of public health and communication journals and is on the editorial board for Health Communication.
